alyson is a wealthy socialite wannabe, neither rich nor well-connected enough to be considered anything more than second class. quezon city born, she was quickly whisked away to attend international school in manila where her grandparents spoiled her silly. aly's grades rose and fell; dating and partying occupied most of her time because popularity came a lot more easily than calculus problems or english papers. life was just one big party.
in hindsight, high school was her peak.
she went to work immediately after graduation, snagging an internship at a rising fashion brand. when the project fell through the cracks, she drifted around as a traveler, half sulking about the brutal fashion industry and half clueless as to what she wanted to pursue next. any hopes of travel grounding her thoughts were crushed as she, à la kylie jenner, "realized stuff." her parents' plans of marrying her off suddenly became her worst nightmare, and she fled the engagement she previously agreed to.
now she resides in anytown, masquerading as her friend's mysterious fiancée. as thankful as she is, she hates living in the dumpy midwest, and she hates having to maintain a heterosexual facade to avoid her family's wrath in the form of monetary withdrawal. she holes herself up in baron estates during the day and works as a pretty (useless) on the rocks bartender during the night. she seeks being able to support herself independently, lest she lives out the rest of her life as a closeted gold-digger.
