[attr="class","stafftext"]anytown is located in the midwest, and is your typical midwest town. you know your neighbors, your kids can run around unsupervised, and more often than not, people don't always lock their doors and nothing bad ever really happens.

there are four distinct sectors to the town. to the north - in an area aptly called "the north end," - there are businesses and restaurants and shopping. to the east, there's the industrial park, which is mostly empty now and is home to drifters and homeless people, who hide out in the abandoned factories and warehouses. to the south, there's the well-to-do part of town, with an expensive housing district and some nicer restaurants. finally, to the west - which is the largest part of town - are majority of the town's residents as well as schools and some other amenities.

anytown isn't particularly set in any state, just the generic "midwest" area. it's about 45 minutes away from the next largest town, though small towns of about 500 people or less surround it. anytown itself has a population of about 17,000. despite being so far from other large cities, everything anyone could need can be found inside anytown.
